Hickory Smoked Olive Oil

This Late harvest olive oil is cold hickory smoked for a hint of flavor. We roast hickory wood chips and contain the smoke that it gives off. We then let the smoke cool down completely and push our extra virgin olive oil through it over a 24 hour period so it absorbs that smokey flavor.

It complements pulled pork and other meats, salmon, portabello mushrooms, and fried eggs. It is also the perfect, healthy alternative to bacon grease on a traditional spinach salad. If you are inclined to make your own barbecue sauce, be sure to add a dash of TOOC Hickory Smoked Oil to give it a little twang. This smoked olive oil is so unique. I have never seen a similar product. I love to use it in my steak salad dressing along with the honey balsamic vinegar. I add shallots, dijon mustard and tarragon and it makes a delicious vinagrette. (Posted on 6/16/16)

When I use this Hickory Smoked Olive Oil, it adds that earthy flavor I miss when cooking "vegetarian". A good pot of beans made using this oil has a depth of flavor that most vegetarian versions are missing! Bravo! I hate when this is out of stock! (Posted on 11/19/15)
